Quick answer: The Magnetix system uses a magnetic dock to hold your handheld shower wand, completely replacing traditional plastic friction cradles. Because it snaps into place via magnetic attraction, docking requires no aim or alignment. Current models feature components made from recycled ocean plastic, a 60-inch metal hose, and connect directly to a standard 1/2-inch shower arm.
On most handheld showers, the wand returns to a plastic cradle and is held by friction or a clip. It works until the cradle wears, at which point the wand starts slipping out. Magnetix replaces that mechanism with a magnetic dock.

How it works
The wand snaps into place through magnetic attraction. In practice the difference is that docking requires no aim — you bring the handheld near the dock and it pulls itself into position, which matters when your eyes are closed or you are holding something in the other hand. There is no clip to wear out and no alignment to get right.

Magnetix is used across both standalone handheld showers and combination kits. The Verso 220C3BN is a representative combination unit: a pivoting rainshower head with a 7-inch spray face, a magnetic handheld, an Infiniti dial for switching spray modes, a 60-inch metal hose, and a 3-in-1 arrangement that lets the rainshower and handshower run separately or together. The Engage 28586SRN is a simpler six-setting handheld on the same docking system.
What to check before buying
- Installation scope. Most handheld and combination kits thread onto the existing 1/2-inch shower arm. They replace the head only and require no work on the valve behind the wall — which makes them one of the few genuinely straightforward shower upgrades.
- Hose length. 60 inches is typical. Longer reach helps for rinsing a tub, bathing children or washing a dog.
