Trim kits are valve-specific. Check which valve is already installed — Posi-Temp trim will not fit an M-CORE valve, and vice versa. Each product page lists the compatible valve series, the included components, and whether a valve is bundled or sold separately.

Moen tub and shower trim kits

A trim kit is the visible half of a shower: the handle, the escutcheon plate on the wall, and usually the shower head and tub spout. It mounts over a rough-in valve that stays behind the wall. This collection covers trim for Posi-Temp and M-CORE valves across the Voss, Gibson, Align, Eva, Cia, Wynford, Brantford and Belfield series.

Match the trim to the valve

Trim is built for a specific valve platform. Posi-Temp trim fits a Posi-Temp valve. M-CORE trim fits an M-CORE valve and comes in 2-Series, 3-Series and 4-Series versions that differ in how many controls you get. Trim that does not match the valve will not install, so check the valve first.

Tub and shower, or shower only

A tub and shower kit includes a tub spout, often with a diverter that sends water up to the shower head. A shower-only kit leaves the spout out. Rainshower versions ship with a larger head.

Upgrading without opening the wall

If your valve is sound, new trim changes the look of the whole shower in an afternoon, without tile work or a plumber opening the wall.

No. Trim kits cover what you see on the wall. The valve behind the wall is sold separately unless the listing says otherwise.
Will Posi-Temp trim fit an M-CORE valve?
No. Posi-Temp and M-CORE use different cartridges and mounting, so trim must match the valve platform.
What does 2-Series, 3-Series and 4-Series mean?
They are M-CORE trim types. The 2-Series controls temperature, the 3-Series adds volume on the same handle, and the 4-Series splits volume and temperature onto separate controls.
