Valve required, sold separately. This is a trim kit (the visible handle, plate and fixtures). It installs on a Moen M-CORE transfer rough-in valve, which is not included. This is an M-CORE 3-Series trim: one handle that controls both water volume and temperature. Before ordering, make sure a compatible Moen M-CORE transfer rough-in valve is already installed, or order one separately.
The Moen UT3331BN is a Cia M-CORE 3-Series valve trim with an integrated diverter (transfer valve) in Brushed Nickel for tub and shower installations. It pairs a lever handle with a temperature indicator on the escutcheon and a rotary transfer control that directs water to two or three devices. It suits both replacements and remodels where a compatible Moen M-CORE rough-in valve is installed or planned.

Compatibility
